Charlotte Zacharia FCCA
Managing Director
Charlotte is an ACCA Chartered Certified Accountant with over 20 years’ experience working in practice for small to medium sized businesses in all industries. Having studied Accountancy and Finance with Statistics at Middlesex University and gaining a First Class degree, Charlotte choose to continue her higher education and gain her Chartered Certified status with ACCA whilst working as an accountant.
Having now run her own business for 7 years as well as having her technical knowledge and keen eye for statistics, Charlotte now spends the majority of her working life undertaking business growth and development work with her clients. Business growth, tax planning and business strategy is where Charlotte comes to light!
Over the last 5 years, Research and Development has played a major role in Charlottes skill set and she has managed to secure over £5.6 million in Research and Development tax credits for our clients in that time.
Out of the office, Charlotte enjoys nothing more than entertaining friends and family whenever she can. She lives with her 2 teenage children in Hertfordshire and their dog Wilson. In her spare time Charlotte has a passion for Formula 1, reading and running.
Jennie Griffiths ACMA
Senior Accountant
Jennie is an ACMA Chartered Management Accountant with experience of both internal finance functions for large retail companies as well as over 13 years’ experience in accountancy practice. After studying at Warwick University and gaining a First Class degree in International Business with French, Jennie studied for CIMA as part of a graduate scheme with a large supermarket chain, and then went on to gain experience in a number of retail businesses supporting a variety of operational functions.
After having children, Jennie moved into accountancy practice supporting small and medium enterprises, where she has enjoyed getting to know the clients’ and their businesses. With strong organisational skills and a keen eye-for detail, Jennie enjoys preparing accounts and management accounts for clients and always wants to help clients achieve their goals and understand what the figures really mean.
Away from work, Jennie enjoys all things food-related, trying new recipes on her family and friends, going to watch live comedy and is being kept busy by a new puppy that has joined the family.
Kirsty Whiteford
Accountant
Kirsty went from A levels straight into a small accountancy practice in St Albans, where she worked for 16 years working her way up from Junior accountant to Senior Auditor, she studied for her ACCA exams in the evenings and at weekend school and part qualified. Working on a variety of clients from sole traders to Limited companies, groups and charities she covered all aspects of bookkeeping, VAT returns, corporation tax, audit of small to medium sized businesses.
In a change of career Kirsty then worked for a learned Royal Charter Society for 13 years, starting as Senior administrator and being promoted to Registrar in the last few years. She covered all the charity admin, meeting admin, conference organization, subscription database admin and kept the bookkeeping functions and accounts preparation up to date and running smoothly.
Having come back to the profession that she loves, Kirsty loves a challenge and working out problems, she is very organized and proactive in bookkeeping and accounts production.
In her spare time, pre pandemic, Kirsty enjoys going to the theatre and seeing live shows, and has been dragged to many music concerts by her teenage daughters. In the new reality Netflix or a good book with a cup of tea are Kirsty’s go to to wind down after a long day of figures.
Chris Walker
Accountant
Christopher holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting & Finance from London Metropolitan University and has over six years of practice experience. He has worked across a variety of departments, including Payroll, Bookkeeping, VAT returns, Personal Tax, Management Accounts, and Year-End Statutory Accounts. Known as both a Xero and Excel whizz, he proudly calls himself a “Xero Guru.”
He is now focused on developing his analytical skills further and is working towards achieving ACCA accreditation to become a Chartered Certified Accountant in the coming years.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with his family, exploring festivals, discovering new restaurants, and walking his dog. He’s also an avid cyclist, always testing how quickly he can ride into the office. In his downtime, he loves a good night out with friends over a pint and is an enthusiastic LARP (Live Action Role Play) participant.
Denise Terzi
Payroll Manager
Denise started in payroll after attending the University of Sheffield working for a large national construction company. In those days it was a manual system (So long ago). Denise has seen payroll and the process change dramatically since her days there to where we are now.
Over Denise’s career she has covered all aspects of bookkeeping, VAT returns, Management Accounts and running various departments or businesses. Being now in Practice has allowed Denise to go back to her first love, payroll.
Denise is a member of AAT, but has been a member of CIPP, and would love one day to finish a degree in Payroll Management.
When Denise is not in the office she enjoys the theatre, good food and wine, travelling especially sightseeing holidays - She is not very good at lying on a beach. Books and walking with the dogs.
Clare Spitzer
Practice Manager
Clare holds a BA (Hons) in Leisure Management from the University of Wolverhampton. She brings valuable experience from her previous roles at the University of Westminster, where she worked as an Assessment Officer, and at Hertfordshire International College, where she was part of the student finance department.
At Z Squared, Clare manages the administration function, drawing on her strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Clare has a clear understanding of client requirements and is always happy to engage directly to ensure their needs are met efficiently and professionally.
Outside the office, Clare enjoys combining a good book with a glass of wine and regularly attends a monthly book club. A fun fact: at age 16, she was awarded a Blue Peter badge for appearing on the show in connection with her local library.
